After Jeff Gordon retires....

Not really sure what I am going to do. It may not be for awhile, Mark Martin is 50 and he's still racing so why can't Gordon do the same thing? Here's the dilemma: I picked Jeff Gordon to be my favorite driver the first race I watched. Then, I didn't even know that he was one of the all-stars and very possibly the second most popular driver. I just liked his name and paint scheme. The first race I ever watched was the one that Dale Earnhardt died. I wasn't watching when that happen (I didn't watch all of the race) but that's a pretty bad first race. RIP Earnhardt, I would have really loved to root against you. The other driver I liked in that race was Ricky Craven (he's not in the series anymore). Well, I've been a Jeff Gordon fan since then. There were some hard times, the hardest time was when Kasey Kahne (my second favorite) was doing amazing and Gordon wasn't. I have a terrible crush on Kasey but so does every other girl that watches NASCAR. Well, I stuck with him, Kasey never became my favorite. However, when Jeff retires I'm still not sure Kasey will become my fav.
As of right now, I like Jeff then Kasey, then Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano (not sure how much longer it will be until Joey passes Jimmie), then Denny Hamlin, and next Kevin Harvick. I'm not sure that Kasey is a good enough driver to become my favorite. He sure is the hottest driver and he's good enough to win and make the chase sometimes but he's not as good as Gordon and I'm pretty used to my driver winning. So, then Jimmie right? No, as much as I love Jimmie I have rooted against him winning championships before. I had a really hard time this year. Jimmie had already won three championships in a row (only done once before in NASVAR history) and I knew if he won again he would make history but even I was getting a little bored with it. It wasn't until Gordon was mathematically eliminated that I rooted for Jimmie. He crashed in one race when Jeff still had a shot and I was happy about it. It's hard to admit but after I new he was okay I was happy that Jimmie had some bad luck. So that leaves Joey Logano to become my favorite. This could happen, it's too early to tell though. He may not be as good as everyone thinks he is. If he isn't then I'll probably switch to Jimmie or Kasey. Maybe, by the time Jeff retires Jimmie will be on the same level as everyone else so I won't have to secretly root against him. Maybe Kasey will qualify for the chase more often and win more races. He's in a Ford now, maybe that will make a difference. Somehow I have a feeling that it's all up to Joey, if he's as good as Gordon is right now (not expecting back to back championship but just at least one win every season and good enough to be expected in the chase) then he will be my favorite. So, I guess time will just tell.
