One thing that makes me really mad...

I really hate it when people insult thing they know nothing about. Another thing that I hate is when people claim they are fans of things they know nothing about. You really can't hate a TV show until you've watched it or how do you know that you hate it? Same thing applies to everything. How can you hate Thai food if you've never had it? You can't know. It also annoys me when when people think they are fans of something they don't have a clue about. Like someone who would claim they are a fan of the Plain White T's and the only song they know is "Hey There Delilah". At one point, the only song by them I knew was "Hey There Delilah" and at that point I would never had said they were one of my favorite bands. Now I know a lot of their songs so know I will claim that I am a fan. I would say I like the song not the band or that I think I really could like that band. When I was watching Just My Luck I kept saying I wish McFly was a real band because I could really love a band like that. Turns out they were real and know that I'm an expert on McFly I claim I'm a huge fan. ANyways, what set me off was this guy on facebook. McFly's Danny Jones is competing in a reality show where they turn popstars into opera stars and he kept saying how horrible of a singer Danny was and that people only liked him because he was pretty (which is true). At first, I didn't have much of an issue with it. I think Danny has a wonderful voice, not really one perfect for opera but very nice overall. He's one of the two lead singers for my favorite band, I would hope I like him. What made me mad was today he posted something about how he listened to some of Danny's other stuff and that he was actually good. That meant he was saying Danny was a horrible singer without ever hearing him sing anything but some opera. I've seen the clips of him singing opera on youtube and he's just goofing off in a recording studio not really trying or anything. He was judging a singer without hearing him in his element. That kind of thing annoys me. I never said I disliked the Jonas Brothers until I heard them sing. I had to hear them first. My sister and I coined the term "official critic". To us that means you can't have a real opinion on something until you have a clue about it. Well, at least he's changed his mind. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, it's just when they don't know why they disagree with me (or why they agree) that bothers me. It's like writing an essay that tries to prove it's point "just because" or "that's what my friends say" or worse, "based on my stereotype I'm supposed to hate this so I do". Ugh...

More random music thoughts

Last night I found the best way to waste time ever. Look through 256 pictures of McFly. I think that band has a slight advantage over others because they are all HOT! I made one the background on my computer. It used to be a NASCAR picture and probably will be again when NASCAR starts in February. That's something you can do really easily at two in the morning.
I'm listening to Josiah Leming right now. I'm pretty sure no one knows who that is by name. He was the kid in the car that American Idol kicked off before the top 24. That made me really mad because he is AMAZING! Some of his lyrics can be a little depressing but deep for someone his age. I've never been able to say that my favorite has won that show because Josiah, Chris Daughtry, Blake Lewis, and Adam Lambert didn't win :( David Cook was my favorite that made the top 24 but I like Josiah better. He's released two EPs and was signed to a large record company which I don't remember the name right now but he hasn't put a CD out or anything... If that company put just a little money behind him he would be huge. His stuff is really good and I would recommend it to everybody. Not sure which one of his is my favorite but "One Last Song", "To Run", "Theysay", and "Over and Over" are all really good. I love the rest of them too but those are the ones that come to mind. It's really frustrating to be a huge fan of someone so unknown and under appreciated. If anyone ever makes a CD of the best performances on American Idol ever I would highly suggest Josiah's "Grace Kelly"!
