These are the top 10 movies I'm looking forward too in 2010. Towards the end of 2010 I will list the 10 movies I saw that were released that year that I liked best. Hopefully I get it right!
1. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Trader: I read these books a long time ago and I still remember them. I really liked the first two movies so why wouldn't I like this one? Well, there is one reason, the absence of both Peter Pevensie and William Moseley. When I read the books, I was devastated when I read Peter and Susan where no longer allowed in Narnia. Peter was and will forever be my favorite character in the series (except of Aslan of course). Also, I have a major crush on William Moseley (when I read the book I was too young to have a crush on Peter) and will miss seeing him on the screen.
2. Iron Man 2: I didn't see the first movie in the theatres and had no desire too at all. The commercials just didn't appeal to me. I do like the X-Men series and the older Batman ones so I wasn't anti-superhero just disinterested. When Dad brought it home and but it on I wasn't expecting something horrible or amazing. I ended up loving it. If the second one is as good as the first one (I'm not one of those people who condemn movies because they are sequels), which the commercials look promising, I will really like this one too. The Spiderman movies just kept getting worse and worse by the movie. I really hope this franchise will not do the same but so far I give it a thumbs up.
3. Ironclad: I'll admit upfront, the main reason I looked into this movie is because of William Moseley. But, I also really liked James Purefoy in the movie A Knight's Tale. I also like history and this movie takes place in a very important part of history. Plus, a movie like this has promise of lots of action and some action movies are my favorites (crossing my fingers that the 2011 list will include a Bourne 4).
4. The Last Airbender: This one has a long story attached to it and despite how much I talk about Slumdog Millionaire, Dev Patel's part in this movie is one of the more minor reasons I want to see this movie. The first reason is that, for some reason, the show Avatar: the Last Airbender became some kind of private joke between my sister, brother, and I. I never found the show bad, and I thought the idea was actually interesting. Maybe I was fascinated by the idea of a cartoon with a strong story line. Anyways, I've seen the show once or twice in my life. When I saw that it was going to be made into a movie I was really excited for a couple of reasons but crushed by one thing. Having M. Night Shyamalan and Jackson Rathbone involved were almost enough in my mind but maybe not enough to overcome the fact that Jessie McCartney was playing a major character... I have always strongly disliked Jessie McCartney with a passion (well his music) and associated him with the likes of Aaron Carter and Backstreet Boys. However, when someone I really didn't like was replaced with someone I really like I was sold. I saw the commercial for the movie and it looks really cool.
5. Lovely Bones: This one is almost a 2009 movie (it was released in 2009 but not for a widespread release). I've never read the book, I'll but that one up front. I'm really into the paranormal so the story line was right up my ally. Also, I really like Peter Jackson as a director and I thought Saoirse Ronan was amazing in Atonement. However the movie has a little added bonus, on top of all that Jake Abel is in the movie. I saw Jake Abel in an episode of Supernatural. He was playing the third Winchester brother which is kind of a big deal. I knew that either I would love the guy who played him or hate him and there would be no in-between... I thought he did it perfectly and he looks like he could be Jared and Jensen's (the two stars of the show) kid if that was possible. By the way, that means he is super hot.
6. Nightmare on Elm Street: Normally, I would never look into a horror movie let alone a remake. But then I saw the cast. It's like all of my favorite things combined in one cast, Supernatural, Smallville, Twilight, and Terminator. I have a major crush on both Thomas Dekker and Kyle Gallner but that is just the icing on the cake. Kyle Gallner's character on Smallville (Bart Allen/ Impulse) has been in three episode but the majority of the fans love him me included. He is one of my favorite characters on the show. Plus, he did amazing in The Haunting in Connecticut. Also, Kate Cassidy kicked butt as Ruby on Supernatural. She is by far the best Ruby ever. I love Emmett and any sort of Twilight connection in a movie makes me like it more. Thomas Dekker is one of the hottest men to ever walk the earth and I really like him as John Connor. I'm not really sure I could have picked a better cast.
7. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief: To be honest, I read the first book because I knew Jake Abel was going to play Luke Castellan. I read the rest of the series because I loved it. I'm really hoping this movie takes off as big as the Twilight and Harry Potter movies. The cast looks pretty decent and the trailers look really cool. As long as they don't stray too far from the book I'll be happy. I'm not sure what would have to happen for me to dislike this movie. I have the release date programmed in the calender on my cell phone. I mean, the last time I was this excited for a movie in was New Moon which wasn't that long ago I know but I'd put the excitement on the same level. If the movies is half as fun as the books it will be amazing. I'm so ready to like this movie it would really have to stink for me not to like it. I'm really hoping they do all five books. I really want to see who would get cast as Nico and Thalia amongst others.
8. Remember Me: Two words: Robert Pattinson. Why else would anyone want to see this movie? Actually, there are movies that he is in I have zero interest in but this one looks like it could be really good. I like romance movies and this list needs at least one so why not one staring a major hottie (gosh, I feel like a lot of my movies are on here because of some hot actor... I need a life). Anyways, I think it looks sweet but not sugary sweet. A lot of romance movies are too over the top for me or are really predictable to the point where you know the story by the commercial. This one looks like it could be really cool and maybe not follow the very typical story line that most romance movies follow.
9. Secretariat: I really love horses and I've know Secretariat's name as long as I've known my own. The only other racehorse I love more than him is the Black Stallion and he's not real. I like almost all movies where horses play a big part in (even those animal planet ones). As long as the horse plays a big part, the script is not cheesy, and they did their research on horses then I'm sold. However, if the horse has nothing to do with the movie or they have a western saddle on the horse during a race then I will laugh at the movie. I can't really say much yet because there isn't that much information about this one yet. All I knew is that I was really excited when I saw they were making a movie about Secretariat.
10. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse : There is a 100% chance I will love this movie. I read the book about two years ago. I loved it then and I still do now. The first two movies were really good so I don't think this one will be an exception. So far there has been only one picture posted so I can't go on and on about how awesome it looks yet but I will be looking for a trailer weekly and when I see one I'm sure I will squeal like I'm thirteen again. This is probably the movie I'm looking most forward too and will be on the list of the ten best movies of 2010 at the end of 2010. I can't really say the same thing about the rest of these movies but Percy Jackson has a really good chance of making the list. I may even drive up to Michigan so I can see this one with my friend (the only thing which would keep me from seeing it a midnight on the opening day).

Things Slumdog Millionaire taught me
I watched Slumdog Millionaire yesterday. I love that movie. It was the first time my Dad ever saw it and he seemed indifferent but he's about as romantic as a ham sandwich and as culturally aware as one too. After watching that movie I wanted to go to the slums and volunteer there and he's freaked out by the idea. He keep saying things like "There's people down the street that need help." I'm sure that's true but I think India is where I'm called. Also, someone told me that missionary work is blooming own there. That only increased my want to help them and my belief that I should. If I ever get the money for something like that I'm going to do it.
So I realized that Slumdog Millionaire taught me a lot of important stuff and some not so important stuff. This is what the non-important stuff was:
1. Benjamin Franklin is on the $100.00 bill
2. A lot of people don't know who the third musketeer (I've read the book twice and it surprised me how many people don't know)
3. When you have to take your shoes off in a public place put them in your purse.
4. Keep your purse in your lap when sitting down somewhere.
5. You are not a stalker if you really care about the girl (Edward and Jamal :D)
6. People in India have celebrity worship also!
Some of the more important stuff, some I already knew but the movie still teaches it:
1. Never give up

3. People can be raised in the same situation and turn out different based on how they handle things
4. Nothing is ever hopeless unless you make it that way

Sports
Watching the BCS game right now. I really like sports for the most part. I fit many stereotypes of the creative-English-right brain-Christian-Conservative-small town girl. I like cross stitching and usually enjoyed the books I was assigned in high school. I love horses, listen to alt and indie music, am desperately in love with Edward Cullen and Mr. Darcy, and so forth. It usually takes someone a day or two to figure out that I love NASCAR. I'm probably the biggest NASCAR fan in my family. I'm Jeff Gordon's biggest fan and was actually happy that Jimmie Johnson won 4 championships in a row. I'm also a hge fan of Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne.
I like football but my Dad is a huge Detroit Lions fan and their games were always on... Needless to say I'm NOT a Lions fan, I mean they were 0-16 last year! This year was an improvement they actually one two games. I'm a Colts fan, well not so much a fan of the Colts as I am Peyton Manning. I was a Green Bay fan until Brett Farve left, now I'm a Vikings fan. I'm a fan of players not so much the teams. So I like Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Brett Farve. So, for now, I'm a Colts, Giants, and Vikings fan. When Tate Forcier gets drafted into the NFL then whichever team he plays for will be my favorite. He's University of Michigan's quarterback right now. A true freshman and if he had an actual team then he would be a lot better. Sometimes I wonder how those receivers don't catch the ball.
Anyways, I am a Detroit Red Wings and a Detroit Tigers fan. For college football, I love University of Michigan and Penn State! Don't care for basketball much or golf. Not sure golf is even a sport. I do like the PBR. Who wouldn't like a sport full of whole bunch of twenty-something cowboys?
I think the whole fan of a person and not a team thing came from NASCAR because there is only one driver. I am well aware that the pit crew and builders are just as important but still... it's different than a football team. Plus, football players change teams as much as I change my clothes. They aren't real teams anymore so I don't think anyone could blame me.

Slumdog Millionaire
I'm listening to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack right now. That's got to be one of the best movies (and soundtrack) of all time. I am kind of torn about which soundtrack I want to win the Grammy though because the Twilight (or New Moon don't remember which one was nominated) is also amazing.
I will never be able to write a story while listening to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack because I can't help but think about it. My sister and I made some mix tapes for a long car ride once and we put "O...Saya" on one of them (if left up to me I would have put every song on them). I hadn't seen that movie in a few months (long time for me) and I wasn't thinking about it but all I could think of was Jamal, Latika, etc... We put the CDs in the radio in our room after we got home and every time the song came on my mind would go straight to the movie. No other soundtrack does that. I can listen to most songs from movies and associate it with other times or people (or characters in my case) but none of them. Even "Paper Planes" does that to me but I never listened to the radio when it was played on the radio. I can remember when I was listening to songs on random and "Latika's Theme" came on and then I new I would have to watch the movie again. It's my favorite one right now and I almost never saw it. Two girls that I knew loved it and so I went to see it but it was a last minute decision, I almost didn't go. Really glad I did.
I would definitely put Jamal in the list of best characters ever. I think Jamal and Latika's romance is one of the best ever. I won't say anything about how it ends but I'm hopelessly in love with Jamal Malik. He's not the only fictional character but he's one of them (Sam Winchester, Edward Cullen, Mr. Darcy, to name a few) but Jamal ranks up there. Too bad men in books/movies are better than real ones...

More random music thoughts
Last night I found the best way to waste time ever. Look through 256 pictures of McFly. I think that band has a slight advantage over others because they are all HOT! I made one the background on my computer. It used to be a NASCAR picture and probably will be again when NASCAR starts in February. That's something you can do really easily at two in the morning.
I'm listening to Josiah Leming right now. I'm pretty sure no one knows who that is by name. He was the kid in the car that American Idol kicked off before the top 24. That made me really mad because he is AMAZING! Some of his lyrics can be a little depressing but deep for someone his age. I've never been able to say that my favorite has won that show because Josiah, Chris Daughtry, Blake Lewis, and Adam Lambert didn't win :( David Cook was my favorite that made the top 24 but I like Josiah better. He's released two EPs and was signed to a large record company which I don't remember the name right now but he hasn't put a CD out or anything... If that company put just a little money behind him he would be huge. His stuff is really good and I would recommend it to everybody. Not sure which one of his is my favorite but "One Last Song", "To Run", "Theysay", and "Over and Over" are all really good. I love the rest of them too but those are the ones that come to mind. It's really frustrating to be a huge fan of someone so unknown and under appreciated. If anyone ever makes a CD of the best performances on American Idol ever I would highly suggest Josiah's "Grace Kelly"!

The Matrix
I watched The Matrix a few days ago and I discovered that I'm addicted to video games... I've seen the movie before but this fact just never occurred to me until then. See I've never taken the red pill so I guess I'm playing video games right now. Everything I do is something in a video game... I always get mad at my brother for playing to many video games and not using his imagination but he was thrilled to discover that this world is a video game. I nearly had to threaten him to get off his DS to watch the movie after promising him that he would love it. Now whenever we talk he usually says something about how this or that isn't real. I think my family made the right decision by making him watch it rather than play video games... So the ultimate solution to video game addiction is take the red pill. I am a red pill supporter. I need to make that a facebook group or something...
I always connect sort of unrelated things all the time and I did when I watched the Matrix this time. Maybe the Matrix is what happens when John Connor eventually dies, or if Arnold Schwarzengger failed to save Sarah or John in any of the movies. I do have to state that I've never seen any of the Terminator films just the excellent show Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles which I will never forgive Fox for canceling.
I guess if you haven't guessed I'm sorta into Sci-Fi (personally I think that the new SyFy is not nearly as cool as the old one and I'm really having trouble figuring out how Jason Bourne or National Treasure have ANYTHING to do with Sci-fi). The majority of my favorite shows resolve around something sci-fi or paranormal. I really don't understand how something like a soap opera could be entertaining but in their defense I've never watched one. My favorite movies are a little more diverse.
There is a lot of stuff going on in the Matrix movies. Neo is definitely a savior or Jesus figure but so is John Connor. I mean look at both of their names Neo means new and his girlfriend's name is Trinity (Morpheus completes the trinity). There you go, 3 people- the holy trinity allusion. I am by no means saying that Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus are the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit but just symbolizing them. Also, John Connor's initials are JC. Can anyone think of someone else's initials who are JC (hint: Jesus Christ). Yet again I'm not saying that this character is as important or perfect as the real Jesus Christ I'm just pointing out cleaver things people do in movies...

Ok now for a real one...
I really love music. I have a 16 gig iPod touch and I could fill it in less then ten minutes if iTunes and my computer worked fast enough. The only problem I have with it is that there is not enough space to put everything I like on it. I guess that's partly my problem because I never stop looking for new music and I never stop liking all the stuff I used to listen too.
When I was really young, my parents have told me that I loved classical music- especially Bach and Bizet. For a little while I had stopped listening to that type of music but when I got a Zune for christmas one year I remembered how amazing classical music really is. However, the reason I stopped listening to classical was because my parents always had the oldies channel on. "California Dreamin'" quickly became one of my favorite songs. After some time, I noticed that a lot of the songs I liked on that channel were by Elvis Presley or the Beach Boys (I also loved all of the Rolling Stones but I didn't know that "Start Me Up," "Ruby Tuesday," "Jumpin' Jack Flash," and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" were all by them). Elvis Presley was my first crush and a CD of his 10 greatest hits was the first CD I ever received. That makes me sound old doesn't it... Well, old music is good music. By the time I had heard my first Elvis song he had been dead for years. It lessened the chances of a relationship by a lot because of this. Actually, that's the reason I became frustrated with Oldies. Everyone was either dead or they were too old to perform for the most part. Realizing that I could never see any of my favorite artist in concert made me kind of sad. Sometimes I wonder if I was born in the right decade... My mother had heard some Brooks & Dunn songs, and had seen Garth Brooks perform "Shameless" on TV and she was hooked to modern country. For my Dad, it was Shania Twain. My sister and I liked her song "That Don't Impress Me Much" because we thought it was funny and it mentioned Elvis. For a LONG time all I listened to was country. I used to know every song in the top 30. I don't listen to the radio that much anymore so I couldn't do that today but I still listen to my favorite country artists and look up the Billboard top country songs from time to time so I don't fall too far behind. In other words, I still really like country music. County music's domination came to an end with the greatest show on earth- Supernatural. I'll have to tell you why another time but that show played almost nothing but classic rock. There were three songs in particular that got me hooked, "Fight the Good Fight" by Triumph, "Carry on My Wayward Son" by Kansas, and "Renegade" by Styx. The more I listened to classic rock the more I liked it. Another things I found out was that my knowledge of Tom Petty and Blue Oyster Cult amused adults it only encouraged me to get more into it. I'm not entirely sure how I became obsessed with Alternative, AltRock, and Indie started but it did. I know Muse and the All-American Rejects were some of the first rock bands I listened to where the members weren't over 50. It sort of spread from there. One girl at my school had excellent taste in music and turned me on to Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. I guess it was over time. I'd say that sort of stuff now dominates what I listen to the most...

I don't listen to the radio that much anymore so I couldn't do that today but I still listen to my favorite country artists and look up the Billboard top country songs from time to time so I don't fall too far behind. In other words, I still really like country music. County music's domination came to an end with the greatest show on earth- Supernatural. I'll have to tell you why another time but that show played almost nothing but classic rock. There were three songs in particular that got me hooked, "Fight the Good Fight" by Triumph, "Carry on My Wayward Son" by Kansas, and "Renegade" by Styx. The more I listened to classic rock the more I liked it. Another things I found out was that my knowledge of Tom Petty and Blue Oyster Cult amused adults it only encouraged me to get more into it. I'm not entirely sure how I became obsessed with Alternative, AltRock, and Indie started but it did. I know Muse and the All-American Rejects were some of the first rock bands I listened to where the members weren't over 50. It sort of spread from there. One girl at my school had excellent taste in music and turned me on to Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. I guess it was over time. I'd say that sort of stuff now dominates what I listen to the most...
Whenever anyone asks me what music I listen too I have to list genres because if I listed bands I would be talking for way too long. I don't know if I've ever had a favorite band but if I had to say somebody it would be McFly. At other times in my life the answer would have been Bach, Elvis Presley, Dierks Bentley, All-American Rejects, and the Fleet Foxes.
My facebook is covered with things about music so I'll probably talk about it a lot...
